How to get there

The University of Southern Denmark is situated in Odense – only a 3 minute drive from the highway and a 15 minute drive from the railway station.

Odense is well connected to both national and international railway and is therefore easily reached by train. There is a regular bus service from the railway station in Odense to the university campus.

Train
From Copenhagen Airport (Kastrup)

If you arrive at the airport, train tickets can be bought at the ticket office above the railway station in the arrival terminal (Terminal 3)

Trains leave every 10 minutes from the airport to Copenhagen Central Station, where trains depart for Odense approx. every 30 minutes.
The journey from Copenhagen Airport to Odense takes approx. 2 hours. Take the train to Odense Banegård Center.

When you arrive in Odense by train, you can go by taxi or bus to the university.

Taxi
You can get a taxi from the taxi rank behind the main building of Odense railway station (Odense Banegård Center). Look for the signs in the railway station. The journey from the railway station to the University of Southern Denmark takes about 15 minutes.

Busses
Busses nos. 41, 42, 43 and 44 will take you to the University of Southern Denmark.

Free bus passes
You can get a bus pass, which gives you free travel on busses between the Bus Terminal and the conference venue at the University of Southern Denmark. The bus pass is valid during the WDPI2019 conference, i.e. 5-7 June.

Here’s how:

Secretary Jette Tromborg will be handing out bus passes at the conference opening reception at Odeon on Tuesday, June 4.

If you are not attending the opening reception, you can get a bus pass from one of our student helpers who will be present at the bus terminal at 8.15 on Wednesday, June 5

There will be extra busses at the 8.30 departure from the bus terminal this morning!

Please note!
June 5th is a public holiday in Denmark, so the busses run an hourly service for most of the day, with a gap between 8:30 and 10:15. If you miss the 8:30 departure from the bus terminal, the next departure is at 10:15.

Friday, June 7: The 8.15 departure from Odense Banegård Center

If you cannot make it to the opening reception at the Odeon or the bus terminal at 8.15 Wednesday morning, you can get a free bus pass at the reception desk at the University of Southern Denmark.

Bicycle
Cycling in Odense is safe, clean and fun, and you can easily rent a bike in Odense.
